In Pieces
This song is about someone being hurt and betrayed by a breakup. They express how they want the other person to feel alone and hurt now for what they have done. I like this song because in this album, Minutes to Midnight, they finally have segments of singing instead of screaming vocals and experiment with new instruments.

Numb
This song is expressing someone's feeling of being alone. Also that they feel their parents expect too much from them and it is smothering them. I like this song because when it came out while I was in high school I really related to it. The video portrays an art student and I was really into art, also had a lot of pressure from family, and felt I did not relate to anyone.

Pushing me Away
This song is about how someone stays in a relationship because they care about them so much even though they are being treated very badly, and their feelings are not returned.

New Divide
This song was used as the theme for the second Transformers movie, Rise of the Fallen. The lyrics seem to convey a need to fix a gap between either two people or two different groups. Which for the film would refer to the Autobots and humans.

Hands Held High
Song is about how the artist does not agree with the actions of the American government. That there is too much greed and violence in the world and that everyone blindly follows orders and people in power.

Crawling
This is the song that made me a fan of Linkin Park back when it was first released. It is just an angry song about not feeling confident about yourself and being very unhappy.
